Youth Wilderness Classes
Hands-on wilderness skills for kids and teens — built around curiosity, confidence, and real time outdoors.
Real skills, built for young learners
Youth classes at Wilderness Wild are designed to give kids and teenagers genuine, hands-on experience with wilderness skills — not a watered-down version of the adult curriculum. Students learn to make fire, build shelters, identify plants, read the land, and develop the kind of calm confidence that only comes from actually doing things.
Every class is scheduled by request, so the format, group size, and content can be tailored to fit your needs — whether that's a one-on-one session, a homeschool group, or a presentation for a larger audience. Classes are kept small and hands-on by design.
Age groups
Youth classes are available for students ages 7 and up. Content and pacing are adjusted based on the age and experience of the group. Younger students (7–10) focus on observation, basic skills, and hands-on play. Older students (11–17) can go deeper into technique, challenge, and independent practice.

Class formats
Individual Sessions
One-on-one instruction tailored to your child's age, experience level, and interests. Great for focused skill-building or a first introduction to wilderness skills. Sessions move at the student's pace.
Homeschool Classes
Small group sessions designed to fit into a homeschool curriculum. Topics can be tied to nature study, history, science, or practical life skills. Groups of 2–10 students work well. Parents are welcome to participate.
Presentations
Structured presentations for larger groups — scout troops, youth organizations, school groups, or community events. Demonstrations, hands-on activities, and Q&A. Contact us to discuss format and group size.
